There are numerous events put on by apartment and housing associations that are worthwhile to attend. Here are the two that I highly recommend in the coming months:

It’s not too late to attend “The Ninth Annual GEMM Awards” which is being held on Thursday, August 23rd at Blackhawk Museum in Danville. This is a fabulous event where you network with your colleagues during the cocktail hour before celebrating the industry’s best during the award show dinner. Property Management companies often nominate their employees as recognition for a job well done and being la crème de la crème.  Last year there were over 400 attendees and the awards were presented by government officials! The Blackhawk Museum is a fun venue to hold this event and is perfect for group photos.

Another event not to be missed is the “Housing Foundation 2012 September Summit.”  It is being held on September 6th at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront in Burlingame. This is their largest fundraiser during the year. Last year they raised over $375,000 to help prevent homelessness in the Bay Area. With over 800 participating in the past, this year is sure to bring another great crowd as they will be honoring Debbie Wade with a Lifetime Achievement Award.  This event provides an opportunity to network with your peers and support a great cause.
